La sella di Stradivarius (Sea The Stars) ha trovato un padrone per l’Arc. È bastato fare un giro di telefonate, un breve casting ed il candidato ideale era proprio li a portata di mano.
Sarà Olivier Peslier infatti ad interpretare il Re di Coppe nel Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe G1 di domenica prossima, e del quale cominceremo a parlare a breve. Frankie Dettori sarà in sella ad Enable mentre Andrea Atzeni è impegnato a Newmarket per il suo principale proprietario Obaid.
Lo stayer di Bjorn Nielsen, allenato da John Gosden, è al momento a 16/1 ma vale la pena tentare in un anno particolare nonostante la sua naturale predisposizione alle corse sulle lunghe distanze, dove non ha rivali.
Il jockey francese ha così commentato l’opportunità: “It’s fantastic to pick up the ride–Stradivarius is a super horse. There are a lot of very good horses in the race, of course, but I think this week there is a lot of rain coming–and I don’t think it will be a problem for him. He is a stayer and a very famous horse. I have the experience and know the track well. I am very confident, and we need to fight for that [fifth Arc win].”
Peslier infatti ha vinto l’Arc ben 4 volte: 3 volte consecutivamente tra 1996 e 1998 con Helissio, Peintre Celebre e Sagamix e l’ultima nel 2012 con Solemia.
